I’m a beekeeper and (after about a million words on The Apiarist) writer living in Scotland. However, I also have other interests - photography, cycling, walking, nature, fly-fishing - and wanted somewhere to jot down idle thoughts and musings. Mainly, but not exclusively, these will be about bees and will be cross-posted to social media like Mastodon, BlueSky and Twitter.
These musings are hosted on micro.blog … why there and not X or Facebook? Firstly, they’re mine and not Cambridge Analytica’s. Secondly I dislike my timeline being interrupted with endless ads for drop-shipped rubbish. Finally, I don’t want my carefully crafted thoughts - however badly expressed or punctuated - to be soiled by trolls, bot posts or misogynist rantings from other posters (whether President-elect’s, or the platform owner).
